Medical Assistant/Front Desk Associate

Candidates should be qualified as a Medical Assistant with recent experience of 1 year preferred.  This position requires an energetic, organized individual that thrives in a fast-paced environment.  The schedule entails shifts divided between weekdays (8-8pm), weekends (9-5pm) and some holidays (9-5pm). 

Primary Functions:

Clinical -

  • Responsible to obtain patient’s complaint, health history and vital signs
  • 100 percent utilization of the Electronic Medical Record (EMR), as it pertains to position responsibilities    
  • Prepares for all necessary procedures and treatments according to established specifications
  • Prepares/assists providers with examinations, procedures and treatments
  • Room patients in a timely manner
  • Monitors patient flow from waiting room to exam room and throughout visit
  • Performs CLIA-waived lab tests; draws blood and collects, labels and processes specimens to send to the laboratory
  • Performs diagnostic tests including eye exams, EKG, Pulse Ox, Peak flow and throat and nasal swabs

Occupational Health -

  • Training and understanding of how to perform the following:
    • Spirometry
    • Audiometry
    • Respiratory Fit Test
  • DOT Physicals

Qualifications:

Educational/Training Requirements –

  • High School graduate or GED equivalent is required.  Successful completion of equivalent of an approved medical assistance program is required

Certificates/Licenses/Registration –

  • Certified or Registered Medical Assistant is preferred
  • CPR

Experience Requirements:

  • Two or more years’ experience in a hospital or ambulatory care facility is preferred.
  • Work flexible schedule
